The figure is 260 cm long, 160 cm tall and 100 cm wide — the scale of an adult beef-breed bull. Hand-sculpted and hand-painted: the muscled neck, shoulder and hindquarters are worked into the laminate as separate muscle groups rather than one smooth mass, the dark brown of the head fades into a russet tone along the flanks and cream on the belly, and the short horns point forward just above the ears. Folds of skin show on the shoulder and dewlap — at this size, that is the detail that decides whether the sculpture looks like an animal or like an enlarged toy.
A UV-, frost- and rain-resistant coating allows year-round display outdoors as well as in large commercial interiors:
A bull reads as a sign of strength almost everywhere and in every language, and at 260 cm long the figure works at a distance where an ordinary sign has already stopped being legible — from the car park, from the access road, from the far side of an exhibition hall. It stands on all four hooves with no plinth; at this size, and for display in public places, the anchoring method and the transport arrangement are agreed when you order.
