Red deer stag — a 1:1 scale sculpture

The figure is 220 cm tall, 200 cm long and 80 cm wide — the dimensions of a mature red deer stag. Hand-sculpted and hand-painted: the antlers have individually shaped tines and a clearly pearled base, the russet coat darkens along the back and neck, and the hooves finish in black. The animal stands with its head raised and its neck arched — the posture of the rut rather than of a grazing deer, and it is what makes the silhouette read from the far side of a clearing.

Weather resistance and applications

A UV-, frost- and rain-resistant coating allows year-round display in open terrain, including the shaded and damp spots where wooden carvings soon start to move and split:
